To one side of the Capitol is La Fuenta de la India, the 'Fountain of India', a marble sculpture erected in 1837. Casa Natal Jose Marti (Jose Marti's birthplace), a national monument, is near the city's rail station at 14 Calle Paula Marti was born here on 28 January 1853 and his personal possessions and documents are on display in a fascinating museum. Open daily 09:00 - 18:30.
