008/The Malecon Havana, Cuba.
Sometimes it seems that most of the population of Havana congregate on the Malecon at sunset. This stretch of the waterfront, lined on one side by 100 classical crumbling buildings (constructed early last century) and on the other by the sea, is a magnet for people of all ages. Havana's 6km (4 mile) long promenade and sea-wall forms an arc and runs west from the San Salvador de la Punta fortress in Old Havana to Santa Doretea de Luna de la Chorrera fort on the Almendares River in Vedado.
