036/Abbey Bath England
Over the main door is a statue of Henry VII and on either side are St. Peter and St. Paul to whom the Abbey is dedicated. The Abbey is one of the best examples of English Perpendicular architecture. To the right of the Abbey is the Vaults Museum, which gives an interesting insight into the growth of Christianity and Bath from Roman times. Elizabeth I called the Abbey the 'Lantern of the West', because the huge windows flood the nave lighting up the beautiful interior with its superb fan-vaulted roof.
