Following on from the medieval wall and further along Upper Borough Walls is the Royal Mineral Water Hospital. Now a leading hospital for the treatment of rheumatic diseases. The three great men of Bath, Nash, Wood and Allen all helped in its construction. It was built for rich and poor; a deposit of three pounds was all that was required for entry, which would either pay for the journey home or the burial.
