Holburne Museum of Art formerly the Sydney Hotel, it now houses a fine collection of paintings, porcelain and silverware. Along Pulteney Street there are many plaques on the walls, which indicate the famous people who have lived here, from Louis XV111 of France to anti-slavery champion William Wilberforce. Sydney Place (at the top) was home to Jane Austen (No 4) and also the jolly Duke of Clarence who sired ten illegitimate children before becoming King William IV.
