Towards the tp of Gay Street, named after a surgeon called Gay, who owned the land on which the street was built.
On the corner, directly in front is No. 41 which belonged to John Wood's son, John Wood the Younger who, like his father, was a man of genius and originality. Next door is the Jane Austen exhibition including guides and a video, gives a realistic insight into her life, writing and the atmosphere of those times.
